All gate takings from today’s Shop N Save Fijian Warriors match against Australia Country at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society.

Head coach Cohen Politini said the initiative reflects the team’s commitment to giving back to the community through rugby. He said it was heartwarming to see the sport being used as a platform to support a worthy cause.

“This is a very important match.

“There have been a lot of distractions, especially for players who have just come off the Skipper Cup, but we’ve set our minds on the game against Australia Country,” Politini said.

Politini described Australia Country as a strong and disciplined team, adding that the match will be a good test for his players.

He also praised the inclusion of several young talents, including Ba Rugby captain Isaia Lotawa, who have joined the national side.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for them.

“Over the past three days, we’ve been closely observing their performance in training. They’re adjusting well to the environment and eager to make the most of this chance.”

As part of their Pinktober support, three Fiji Warriors players visited cancer patients at Lautoka Aspen Hospital yesterday. The visit aimed to encourage and uplift patients while showing solidarity with the Fiji Cancer Society’s awareness campaign.

The players shared moments of hope and compassion with four cancer patients and others in the ward, reminding themselves of how fortunate they are to play the game they love while giving back to those in need.

Kick-off for the Fijian Warriors versus Australia Country match is at 2pm today.
