Three student designers are set to debut their labels at WFJ23. The student designers are Aisea Solomone, Ledua Daurewa and Heather Marama.
“These students have undergone a condense fashion program under the mentorship of the designers in our program to help them debut their maiden collections under their fashion labels,”
Wearing Fiji co-founder and student designer co-ordinator, Neisau Tuidraki said Aisea Solomone’s label is Sina, Heather Marama’s is Heather Fiji and Ledua Daurewa’s is Ledua.Co.
“My collection draws from my Rotuman roots and I hope that is reflected on the runway,” Solomone said.
Heather Marama’s collection titled ‘Lase’ is a story of her love for the coral of our sea through her sister’s deep sea dives.
“My designs are my abstract take of the ocean waves and ripples and the deep ocean sauloa,” Daurewa said.
The students are mentored by Samson Lee, Temesia Tuicaumia, Robert Verebasaga,Natalia Larsen, Andrew Powell and Hupfeld Hoerder.
Wearing Fiji will be held this year at the HFC Stadium on October 7.
