Fiji Airways states it upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of unruly behavior on its flights.

The airline issued the clarification after a video emerged today on flight attendants using duct tapes to restrain an abusive passenger on a San Francisco-Nadi flight last Saturday.

“The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority,” said Fiji Airways.

“The individual in question exhibited abusive and unruly behavior which necessitated restraint by our cabin crew to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all on board.”

“Upon arrival in Nadi, the passenger was met by local law enforcement and has since been charged under Fiji’s Civil Aviation Act.”

Fiji Airways said it is committed to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for all passengers and will continue to enforce strict measures against any actions that compromise safety and wellbeing onboard.
