Marriott International has announced plans to launch The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay, marking the luxury brand’s debut in the country.
The 249-key resort will be developed in partnership with Luxurious Resort (Fiji) Pte Limited, and is scheduled to open in 2030 on a 28-hectare beachfront site along the Coral Coast.
“It is exciting to reach agreement to debut The Ritz-Carlton in one of the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Richard Crawford, Marriott’s Vice President of Hotel Development for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
“With Fiji experiencing strong growth in tourism and infrastructure, now is the perfect time to expand our luxury footprint.”
The resort will feature 166 guest rooms and suites and 83 villas, most offering ocean views.
Highlight amenities include a Presidential Villa with a private 186-square-metre pool, large balcony and yoga lounge.
The resort plans to offer seven restaurants, two large pools, a yoga studio, gym, tennis courts, and a Ritz Kids centre.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa will include eight treatment rooms, a sauna, plunge pools, and a salon. It will also cater to events with 1,320 square metres of meeting space, including a 590-square metre ballroom and a 40-seat chapel.
Marriott’s Director of Development, Tristan Cooper, said the brand’s arrival would meet rising demand for luxury travel.
“With record-high occupancy levels across our existing Fiji resorts, and nearly 245 million Marriott Bonvoy members worldwide, we are confident in The Ritz-Carlton’s ability to attract discerning global travellers.”
Marriott currently operates five properties in Fiji, including the popular Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and several Sheraton and Westin resorts.
