The rise of Vunivalu

Suliasi Vunivalu was born in Suva, and is originally from Navave, Vuya, in the province of Bua with maternal links in Levuka, Lakeba, Lau. He grew up in the ourskirts of Suva, the suburb of Toorak.

At the age of 16, he went to Auckland and played rugby union for Kentigen College. At 17, he played for Auckland Blues Development team after impressing in schoolboys rugby.

Vunivalu later signed on with the Melbourne Storm at 18 years of age, in 2013. In 2014 and 2015, he played for Melbourne Storm NYC Team.

In 2016, he graduated to the Storms Queensland Cup team, Eastern Suburbs Tigers. In Round 7 of the 2016 NRL Season Vunivalu made his first NRL debut for the Melbourne Storm against West Tigers.

A fortnight ago at Campbelltown Stadium, New South Wales, he made his first international debut when he played for the Fiji Bati against Tonga where he was very instrumental and displayed outstanding game knowledge and skills with his try-saving ball handling skills.
