Suria Kanta has been battling cancer with a positive mindset and this is all the motivation one needs.
The mother of two is a TikTok artist and loves sewing as well.
The 58-year-old said she became interested in making TikTok videos through her daughter-in-law who motivated her to open an account.
“On Mothers Day my daughter-in-law came to my place and told me to make TikTok videos saying that I am multi-talented.
“So she opened up my account, I somehow kept trying and learning about how to make videos and then later I decided to wear the outfits that I designed so the Bula Fiji Designs hit TikTok.
“It’s nearly few months since I joined TikTok and now I have friends from all over the world who love my TikTok videos and my creations.”
She said the only reason for her creating TikTok videos was to reach out to public and lift the spirits of people who were going through depression and to motivate them.
“I’m trying to reach out to public with the videos I’m making.
I’m using media for good education and trying to uplift the spirits of friends who are depressed, helping my friends with how to run their lives with less money.”
She also recycles empty bottles and cans and creates stuffs with it.
She said the reason for her recycling was for a better Fiji. “I recycle empty juice bottles to make lights and candle stands.
I create plenty things with plastic bottles. “I use tyres and old rice cookers, electric kettles and even the washing machines, old cloths and rakes as well.
“Anything I get I make something out of it.” Kanta built part of her house, which she calls her castle, using old drums.
“My creations have no end. “My main message to the public is to keep the environment clean.
“Instead of throwing things away, recycle them for the beauty of your environment. “It will give someone a smile.”
