Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka last night confirmed he had forwarded an email to the National Federation Party (NFP) “as a matter of courtesy”, saying he believed it was only fair to allow the party to respond to claims made about its leader.
The email, which the NFP says forms part of a wider plot to create division within the Coalition, has prompted the party to renew concerns about a co-ordinated attempt to destabilise the Government.
The NFP said the correspondence appeared linked to individuals both locally and abroad and questioned how the sender seemed to have prior knowledge of an ongoing investigation, suggesting possible leaks within key institutions and a deliberate effort to undermine the administration.
