FIJI Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) president Reg Sanday stressed on the importance of strategic planning to the participants at a volleyball workshop yesterday.
The three-day Strategic Planning Workshop conducted by the Pacific Volleyball Partnership program in support of the Fiji Volleyball Federation is held at the FASANOC House in Suva.
The federation invited senior volleyball coaches, officials, volunteers and administrators to be part of this process.
The aim of the workshop is to review the federation’s strategic plan and to adjust it accordingly before developing an operational plan.
Sanday said it was important for al sporting federations to have a vision and strategic plan to work on.
He also said the federations needed to take a professional approach to keep on par with their overseas counterparts.
Pacific Volleyball Partnership program regional co-ordinator Finn Bates said apart from Fiji, they held similar workshops in Vanuatu and Samoa.
The workshop was facilitated by Talemo Waqa has been made possible through the support of Australia Volleyball, Oceania Volleyball and AusAID.
