WHAT started off as a unique online food business to now a growing franchise, the Big Green salad is certainly becoming popular eating spot.
And for those who are vegetable salad lovers out there, yesterday saw the opening of the second Big Green Salad outlet at My FNPF Plaza in Suva.
Business owner Apenisa Vodo said the idea of the business started with a passion to provide healthy and tasty salads to the people of Suva.
“We started off as taking orders online then we slowly grew to opening an outlet at Dolphins Plaza in Suva,” he said.
With the help of his best friend and wife Laisa Lagilevu, Mr Vodo strived to make a difference of promoting a healthy lifestyle and eating through the food they provided.
The Big Green bar offers a variety of healthy and tasty salads incorporated with ingredients and vegetables bought from local suppliers.
Mr Vodo also revealed their plans to expand in the Western Division by opening up another outlet there.
“With our business already rolling here in Suva, we now want to open up a similar outlet in the West for our customers there,” he said.
With more than 10 employees and Mr Vodo as the head chef, he says they had received a good response from the public.
He added that they also provided catering to several functions and major events for Government and non-governmental organisations.
The Big Green salad gained its prominence through their Facebook page, which has more than 3000 followers, where they initially took orders from its customers.
And one thing the business aims to do is to provide food both for the goodness of your body and your soul.
The Big Green salad bar will be officially opened today.
