Team Fiji’s Waisake Tewa achieved his seasonal best in the 100-meter race at the Paris Olympics, finishing with a time of 10.73 seconds.

Despite coming 6th in his heat, Tewa expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to compete at the prestigious event but acknowledged that there is room for improvement.

The 20-year-old athlete is resolute in his determination to enhance his timings and strive for better results in the next Olympics.

In a highly competitive field featuring 45 athletes, Tewa aimed for a top-two finish in his heat to progress to the next round but unfortunately fell short of his goal.

Meanwhile, on the medal front, China leads the standings with an impressive tally of 16 gold, 11 silver, and nine bronze medals.

The United States follows closely behind with 12 gold, 21 silver, and 20 bronze medals, while the host nation holds the third spot with 12 gold, 14 silver, and 15 bronze medals.

Team Fiji is currently at 44th place with only one silver in the bag.
