A total of 20 players will represent Fiji at the Vanuatu Junior Championship next week.
The team will be coached by Krishneel Kumar of Nadi.
Arron Dutt will manage the team while Krishan Raju is the captain.
Tony O’Connell will act as the assistant coach and manager.
Tennis Fiji secretary John Shannon said the players would participate in the under-10, U12, U14 and U16 grades.
Shannon said this was the third time Fiji would be participating in the event.
“We are grateful to our major sponsor Pacific Energy and co-sponsors Shop N Save Supermarket and Pacific Tourist Store for making the trip possible,” he said.
“Last year the players really enjoyed themselves. The overseas trips for our juniors are all about exposure.
“It will be a learning curve for them.
“Many overseas players travel around the world to participate in ranking tournaments. Our players get very few opportunities.
“However the parent body is working with sponsors, Oceania Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Federation to give exposure our players so that they can enhance their skills.”
Tennis Fiji has set its sights on winning a medal at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea next year.
The team departs for Port Vila tomorrow.
