Digicel Fiji’s chief executive officer Farid Mohammed said the company will continue to upgrade its networks in Fiji.
Speaking at the reopening of the Digicel Fiji Lautoka outlet yesterday, Mr Mohammed said they had just finished rolling out the 5G network in Suva.
“We are anticipating the approval from Government to go live,” Mr Mohammed said.
“It does not stop there. We will continue and there is a master plan in terms of our 5G roll out around the country, as well as expanding our existing infrastructure network especially in the rural and maritime areas.”
Mr Mohammed said the company had evolved over the years from just being a mobile service provider to a full telecommunications and entertainment provider.
“When you look around the store you will see all different services we offer, and we are truly dedicated in moving towards the digital environment.”
He said Digicel Fiji has been a long time investor in Fiji.
“We have been operating in Fiji since 2008.
“This location (Lautoka Digicel Fiji outlet) has been one of the anchor stores that we have had from the launch.
“And when we were looking at the upgrades, we made a conscious decision of keeping the location because it is known to our customers.”
