Teidamu Primary School repeated their feat from last year after emerging as winners in the boys and girls Under-14 division Tanoa grade during the Lautoka Primary School’s Football Association (LPSFA) organised Inter Primary School’s football competition at Nadovu Park on Monday.
The school’s team manager, Vasiti Rakoto, said the school had a roll of 71 students and they were proud of their performance.
“Both the team’s played their hearts out and were determined to get a win when they went on the field,” she said.
Rakoto added they will hold a small celebration in the school for their young stars.
Meanwhile, the Vakabuli Primary School boys team finished as runner-up in the Tanoa grade.
“Building a team at a small school is a major challenge as they have to pick players even from the under-9 grade in order to have at least a 18-member squad,” said team manager Yashneel Kumar.
Kumar said despite having only a school roll of 69 students, they were proud of their performance, adding it was because of the love of soccer.
