THE Fiji Tech Summit 2026 comes at a critical time for organisations navigating rapid technological change and increasing global constraints, said Datec (Fiji) Pte head of Innovation Ronald Sharma.
The tech summit was officially launched yesterday by its host Datec (Fiji), marking its fifth consecutive year and reaffirming its role as a leading platform for technology dialogue, collaboration and resilience in Fiji and the wider Pacific.
“As Fiji Tech Summit enters its fifth year, our focus is on building collective digital resilience across the Pacific,” Mr Sharma said.
“While artificial intelligence is accelerating innovation and opportunity, it is also placing significant pressure on global technology supply, infrastructure capacity, and skills availability.
“Alongside cybersecurity threats and emerging technologies such as robotics, responsible AI adoption is no longer an isolated issue — it is a regional priority that requires shared understanding, careful planning, and collaboration.”
In line with this year’s theme: “Bringing the Pacific Together, Mr Sharma said the global acceleration of AI is reshaping demand for advanced infrastructure, cloud services and specialised hardware, with Pacific markets increasingly experiencing longer lead times and rising costs.
He added that this environment makes strategic planning, governance and regional cooperation more important than ever.
Cybersecurity will be a central focus of Fiji Tech Summit 2026, with growing digital complexity and AI-enabled threats increasing risk across organisations and economies.
The Summit will also address responsible artificial intelligence adoption, focusing on governance, ethics, data protection, workforce readiness, and the risks associated with over-reliance on automated systems.
In addition, robotics and automation will feature as emerging areas of interest, particularly in how they can support productivity, efficiency, and capability-building across Pacific Island economies, while complementing, rather than replacing human roles.
The summit will be held on 12th and 13th of November 2026 at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa at Natadola and will include more than 25 global technologies vendors speaking on the tech trends.
The event will also host an exhibition of their latest AI developments with their products.
About 350 delegates from Fiji and across the Pacific are expected at the event.
