After a hectic journey to the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup in France, the Fiji Water Flying Fijians team is set to arrive at the Nadi International Airport tonight, promising a grand celebration of their incredible achievements.
The players and coaching staff, who left the shores of Fiji months ago, are expected to touch down at 6.55pm local time.
They departed Paris on Tuesday night and transited through Hong Kong and Sydney before they are expected to land on our shores.
Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board interim chairman, Peter Mazey expressed the nation’s excitement.
“It has been a long journey for the team through RWC preparation and through their campaign during the tournament, so they will surely be needing that deserved rest and family time,” said Mazey.
“They have inspired future Flying Fijians with their commitment and sacrifices and we are proud of their achievements during the build-up to the tournament and how they have showcased to the world that Fijian rugby has developed into a force to reckon with in the years to come.”
The team’s return follows their awe-inspiring performance in the Rugby World Cup, where they captured the world’s attention with their resilience and talent.
Their match against England on Monday, which showcased their fighting spirit, further endeared them to fans worldwide.
FRU also extends its gratitude to the team’s supporters, sponsors and partners for their unwavering support throughout the RWC campaign.
