A primary school teacher has been remanded in custody after allegedly hitting a student with her car while he was crossing a zebra crossing.
Saleshni Lata Singh appeared before Magistrate Amelia Vavadua at the Labasa Magistrate Court this afternoon.
She has been charged with one count of dangerous driving and one count of dangerous driving causing a reckless and negligent act.
The incident reportedly took place two Fridays ago.
Singh has been in custody since last Friday.
Her case has been adjourned to tomorrow for a bail hearing.
