TD03F expected to turn east, then weaken -JTWC

Listen to this article:

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) in Hawaii says TD03F has been tracking southeastward over the past day.

JTWC forecasts this general motion to continue for the next 12 to 18 hours, before the system gradually turns onto a more eastward track.

In terms of intensity, JTWC says the main short-term challenge is the asymmetric structure of the system, caused by moderate to high mid-level westerly wind shear.

JTWC forecasts TD03F to dissipate by 120 hours, with the system expected to weaken southwest of American Samoa.
