THE Textile Clothing and Footwear Council of Fiji (TCF Council) will be sending representatives to the upcoming Australia International Sourcing Fair (AISF) this month.
The council stated this was an eagerly awaited exhibition and Fiji would be joining again after the COVID period.
“Fiji is an important regional sourcing hub for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands,” the council stated.
It noted the ‘Make it in Fiji’ campaign that was initiated more than 10 years ago through an AusAID funded support program that had energised and helped to define a once-reeling industry.
The council stated Fiji had successfully produced iconic brand products for customers in America, Australia, New Zealand and as far as Europe.
“Fiji is set apart from the big boys like China, Bangladesh, India and Vietnam, concentrating on flexibility, quality and smaller runs.
“The industry offers great products and a ‘can do’ attitude, including its strong commitment to social and corporate obligations.”
It added that the flexibility of Fiji’s manufacturers to provide shorter, custom runs and the English speaking business operations made premier customer service nearly as famous as the Fiji smile.
So far, it has been confirmed that Danam (Fiji) Pte Ltd, Nagsun Apparel Fiji Ltd and United Apparel (Fiji) Pte Ltd will be attending the AISF show.
The event will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in South Bank, Victoria from November 19-21.
