TAVUA football has already started work gearing up for the 2025 Premier League and is calling on supporters and the community to rally behind them as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
Club secretary Vicky Kumar revealed that since the resignation of their president last season the club has faced financial struggles.
Despite this, a small team, consisting of Kumar, vice president Hirdendra Kumar and coach Diva Singh has been managing the club to keep things going.
“Our focus right now is to recruit new players, secure a training ground in Tavua, and find sponsors to support us next season,” Vicky said.
The team currently trains in Ba, but a request has been submitted to the Tavua Town Council for a ground near them.
Kumar is optimistic about the team’s future. “The coach is here with us so that is fine, the only thing we are planning to do is to recruit some players to play for Tavua for the next season.”
Vice president Hirdendra Kumar shared similar sentiments, emphasising the need to strengthen the club’s management.
“We are looking to fill the vacant roles and then we can start working on the funding.”
“To the fans, please come and support us as we have been promoted to the Super Premier Division, and we want to maintain in this division.”
The club is determined to reconnect with the community once a full management team is in place.
