The Garden Island of Fiji, Taveuni has marked a significant milestone this Christmas with its first successful smart farming harvest.

Ranjila Wati and her family from taveunion have completed their first harvest after engaging Go Global Agriculture Tech Solutions to implement an integrated hydroponics and solar-powered farming system within their eco-friendly farming area.

The project demonstrates how sustainable technology can enhance food production while reducing environmental impact. This initiative was delivered under the Climate Action of Fiji (CAF) programme, funded by the European Union in the Pacific and implemented in partnership with NatureFiji-Mareqeti Viti.

The project aligns with national and regional efforts to strengthen climate resilience, promote sustainable agriculture, and support rural livelihoods.

Ranjila Wati and Jaysheel, expressed their excitement at achieving their first harvest during the Christmas season.

They shared that 2026 will be focused on further investment, scaling up production, and contributing meaningfully to Fiji’s GDP, while actively addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
