“This going to be the biggest tournament in Fiji because it had three different sports all played together in one location.”
He said 32 netball teams, 16 women and 24 men volleyball teams have also been confirmed to participate in the three-day tournament at the Wairiki ground on Taveuni.
“We have top teams such as Police Blues, Army, Raiwasa-Taveuni which will be filling two teams, Tabadamu and Marist.
“This is going to be a tough battle and we are all looking forward to the tournament next week.”
Defending champion LAR Barbarians will be facing a tough challenge next week, he said.
The women’s teams include DXC Seahawks, Police Blue Women’s, Lilians Amazon, Hotspring Savusavu and Flying Vixen from Lautoka.
“The prizemoney is $7000 compared to $8000 last year and the runner-up will walk away with $3500 and for the women’s category, a total of $1000 wining prize.” Gade reiterated the importance of having vaccination card.
“It is very important for team managers to complete the second part of their team registration which is to fill correctly the Vax-Check forms, registration and participation forms.
“All players, officials and spectators are required to bring with them their vaccination card and a valid national ID for verification before entry. We thank our sponsors, co-sponsors, Netball Fiji, Fiji Sports Commission, and Fiji Rugby Union for allowing us to host this tournament.”
