The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) says the Tax Crimes Taskforce has made notable progress in tackling serious tax evasion and financial crimes, including the referral of several high-profile cases to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) for prosecution.
The multi-agency Taskforce — established to strengthen enforcement, promote integrity, and ensure fairness within Fiji’s tax system — will take another major step forward today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FRCS and its partner agencies.
The MOU will formalize collaboration between the FRCS, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Immigration, Land Transport Authority (LTA), FICAC, Fiji Police Force, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), and the Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit (FFIU).
Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Esrom Immanuel will officiate at the signing ceremony as Chief Guest.
FRCS said the MOU will establish a framework for stronger cooperation, improved information sharing, and joint enforcement efforts to ensure a transparent and robust tax system that supports national development.
