Target on luxury market

A BIT on the high side in terms of pricing but top of the range in terms of luxury products is the market new business Beyond is targeting and as retail manager Misheal Bhan says there’s always a market for superior quality products.

“We deal basically in luxury products as depicted by our signage which says, ‘Beyond, a touch of luxury’,” Ms Bhan said.

She said the owners had already invested more than $100,000 in setting up the business up to now.

“And the owners will be investing more as some products were still in transit,” she said.

The retail manager said they did a soft opening last Thursday but would have an official opening in March when the new supermarket next door would officially open.

“Business has been good over the last few days, some customers come into the store, look around and a few days later would come back to the store and actually buy our products,” Ms Bhan said.

She said they had had shipment delays and some of their products were still on the way.

“Our products are coming from the US and Australia and the delay is with products coming from US; so as you can see our shelves are not filled up right now,” she said.

The Fiji Times noted that the new Beyond store sold quality beach and luxury towels, glassware and kitchenware including the famous Betty Crocker brand of utensils, comforter sets including bed sheets and linen, assorted fabrics and scented candles and many other items.

She said the owners of Beyond had done all the necessary feasibilities before deciding to go into the selling of these luxury products.

“They even travelled overseas to personally source and try out these products before ordering them,” she said.

Ms Bhan said they wanted to offer people in Nabua and the surrounding areas something unique in terms of quality and also with the current traffic problem, it was very difficult to go to central Suva for shopping.

“Here our building has ample parking space and accessing our store will be simple.”

She said the owners were also targeting supplying hotels in Fiji since most of the items they sold were of hotel grade quality.

The owner of the new establishment is Hemant Chand of Suva.
