Fiji’s tourism industry has gained another significant milestone with the reopening of the $20 million refurbished Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.

The ultimate facelift by the Reddy Group – in partnership with the Pacific Building Solutions – includes transformation to the lobby, reception area, restaurant, Mint Coffee Lounge, pool area, and conference facilities.

Reddy Group managing director Rohit Reddy acknowledged his late father whose legacy continued to shape the Tanoa Group of Hotels story.

“We had started with the roots embedded by my late father Mr YP Reddy, a stalwart of the tourism industry in Fiji and the Pacific. Dad’s legacy breeds in all of us at Tanoa, and it is great to have our mother Mrs Vimla Reddy present here tonight. Dad showed us from an early age that you need to lead from the front and place an importance where it matters the most, which is our people, our Tanoa people,” Mr Reddy said.

“This transformation at Tanoa International would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff, the trust of our partners and the support of our beloved guests.”

He said the main convention centre and the new Bula Bar were still yet to be completed.

“It has not only taken many hands but also years in preserving Tanoa as a cornerstone in hospitality in Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

“Our brand is built on trust, heart and our people.”

Chief guest Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka commended the Reddy Group and Tanoa Hotels for its continued confidence in Fiji’s tourism industry, noting their efforts had strengthened Fiji’s reputation as a world-class destination.

“This is a model of partnership and shared prosperity, your warmth and service are the true spirit of Fijian hospitality,” Mr Rabuka said.

He highlighted tourism as a core driver of national growth, sustaining thousands of jobs and supporting a wide network of local suppliers and communities.

“Tourism is not just an industry; it is a lifeline for our people and a bridge to the world.”

He also acknowledged the Tanoa Group’s expansion efforts, including the modernisation of Tanoa Plaza in Suva and upcoming upgrades to the Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka.
