FORMER Fiji Bati dummy half Kaliova Tani is keen to win back his spot in the Fiji Bati team for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.
Tani who has been playing in Australia for the past eight years is aiming to represent the country at his third RLWC.
He was part of the team that reached the semi-finals in the 2008 and 2013 world cup.
“I am ready to represent the country if given the chance,” said Tani.
“I have been playing rugby league for the past nine years and I am ready to show what I have learnt in the Fiji team.
“Playing against some of the top NRL players has improved my game and I am looking forward to don the national jumper.”
Tani said the presence of some NRL players would not deter him from achieving his goal.
He said he had been training hard and was ready to battle against his fellow countrymen for a spot in the final team.
“We have seen many new and exciting players representing Fiji in the past years likewise we have fielded some of the top NRL players.
“The competition of being selected in the national team will be tough but I will not give up on my dream.”
Meanwhile, Tani is being joined by younger brother Leveni Tani and former Nadroga forward Seru Cakobau at his club in Australia.
Other Fijian players in the team are Peni Mata (the younger brother of Fiji 7s rep Viliame Mata), Coastline Roos Marika Kuriyalavou.
