SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua back-row player Josefa Tamani is focused on supporting his team and maintaining discipline as they gear up to face the Brumbies in the first-leg of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific 2025 season.

Following his return from playing in the Pro D2 competition in France, the 27-year-old from Vagadaci, Levuka, Ovalau, expresses his delight at rejoining the Fijian Drua setup.

Tamani has highlighted the smooth progress in the team’s preparations, noting their collective experience from the Flying Fijians tour has boosted their readiness for the upcoming clash.

Delighted to rejoin the Fijian Drua setup, the 27-year-old from Vagadaci, Levuka, Ovalau, is eagerly anticipating their first match.

“I’m so happy and lucky to be back with the Drua, and im looking forward for our first match.”

The highly anticipated game is scheduled for February 15 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva starting at 3:35pm.

Tamani expressed the teams’ preparations have been progressing smoothly, with the collective experience gained from the Flying Fijians tour further enhancing their readiness for the upcoming clash.

“I’m so happy and lucky to be back with the Drua, knowing that there is a lot of back-rows players here in the team,” said Tamani.

He acknowledges the strong competition within the back-row positions due to the wealth of talent in the team.

While recognising the experience of his teammates, he remains focused on his personal goals and the team’s objectives in the Super Rugby Pacific season.

“We have a lot of great back-rows in the team, we are training every day, I can say they have more experience than me, but it’s different coming back to super rugby, we have our own goals.”

The prospect of returning to play on home turf fills Tamani with excitement, especially knowing that his family will be watching him live.

His primary aim in every game is to maintain discipline and provide unwavering support to his teammates, particularly in their first home game.

Tamani’s message to the fans is one of unity and encouragement. He calls on supporters to come out in full force to back the Vuvale team Drua, emphasising the importance of their presence in the stands for the team’s success.

The much-anticipated match will be held on February 15, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 3.30pm.
