Talent shown in this year’s inter-house competition of Dilkusha Methodist High School, which was held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.

A total of 180 students showcased their impressive abilities, leaving both spectators and teachers in surprise.

Principal Satyendra Singh emphasised the high level of competitiveness in the event, particularly noting the abundance of talent among the sub-junior and junior grades.

This year, there has been a greater focus on track events, drawing attention to the exceptional runners who have emerged within the school.

“The increase in talent has led to a larger pool of athletes compared to the previous year, offering us the advantage of being able to select more participants to represent the school at the upcoming Triple N zone meet,” said Singh.

“We aim to take around 50 athletes to the competition, which is a significant increase from the 30 athletes last year.

“Our ultimate goal is for the athletes to achieve maximum gold medals at the zone meet and secure a spot at the prestigious Coca-Cola Games.”

He mentioned to attain this success, rigorous training and preparation are imperative to ensure that the athletes are fully equipped for the upcoming challenges.

Singh expressed gratitude towards parents, guardians, and school management for their unwavering support throughout the competition.
