Talent on full display at IDC

TALENT was on full display on the opening day of the 48th Extra Fiji Primary Schools Inter-District Championship (IDC) according to Dinamani Mudaliar, the president of Fiji Primary Schools.

The tournament commenced yesterday at King Charles Park in Nadi, featuring a total of 21 Under-14 boys’ teams and 11 girls’ teams representing various zones across Fiji.

Mudaliar expressed his satisfaction with the level of talent showcased on the first day of competition, attributing it to the perfect venue and weather conditions that set a great tone for the tournament.

“We can see a lot of talent on day one of competition, the venue and weather was perfect great start I can say,” said Mudaliar.

He adds the close score lines of 1-0 and 2-0 indicated that the teams were well-prepared and eager to compete, promising more excitement in the days ahead.

Noteworthy performances on day one came from teams such as Nadi, Suva, Rewa, Labasa, Lautoka, and newcomers Levuka, who impressed with their gallant displays.

Mudaliar mentioned the four-day event offers a platform for budding football stars to shine, with the finals scheduled for Friday.

“The anticipation is high for the upcoming matches as the young athletes showcase their skills and passion for the sport.”

Appreciation was also given to the sponsors Extra Supermarket and Fiji Football Associations for their support of the competition.

As the competition progresses through the pool matches today, Mudaliar invites everyone to attend the matches as entry is free.
