After returning from the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham just a few weeks back, Tevita Takayawa is once again ready to represent the nation at the 2022 Tahiti Oceania Open next month.
The 26-year-old is on a mission to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics and said preparations had been going well for him in the country.
“Preparations have been going great and it is the first time for me to prepare for a competition overseas while at home,” said Takayawa.
“I had not prepared like this since the beginning of when I was in high school so it is a big challenge for me.
“My aim going into this competition is to win gold and get more points to help me qualify for the Olympics.”
The Tahiti Oceania Open will be held on September 3-4.
