TAILEVU Rugby Union president Joe Rodan believes his side is prepared for a tough battle when they meet Nadi in the seventh round of Skipper Cup competition at Prince Charles Park today.

“We are not taking Nadi lightly.

“The boys have been putting in the extra hard work during our normal preparation, and we will not underestimate them. Nadi is a good side, but we are ready, and we are going for a win,” Rodan said.

He stressed that the players would treat the clash as a final and show full focus from the opening whistle.

“We respect Nadi as one of the traditional rugby powerhouses, but at the same time we are aiming for maximum points. We look forward to a good game.”

Rodan also called on Tailevu supporters living in the west to rally behind the team.

“We urge all our Tailevu fans in Nadi to come out in numbers and support the boys,” added.

Tailevu is currently mid-table with 19 points, level with Nadroga and Lautoka, while Nadi sits in seventh place alongside Ba with both on 13 points. With only a few rounds left, today’s result will play a big role in shaping the final race.

In other Skipper Cup matches today, Macuata will host Vinod Patel Ba at Subrail Park, Lautoka meets Malolo at Churchill Park, Naitasiri hosts Vatukoula, while Suva takes on Nadroga in Suva.
