Forty-three iTaukei students from Tailevu received scholarships to support their tertiary education.

These scholarships will provide relief to families who often struggle to meet the cost of higher learning.

The scholarships were awarded through the Tailevu Provincial Council scholarship committee.

Officiating at the event, Pasifika Communities University Pro-Chancellor and committee chair Dr Akanisi Kedrayate encouraged recipients to make the most of the opportunity.

These scholarships are often intended to ease the financial burden on iTaukei families in Tailevu who work hard to ensure their children are able to pursue studies at the tertiary level.

Dr Kedrayate revealed that in the past month the committee had issued more than five undergraduate scholarships and three postgraduate scholarships to eligible applicants from the province.

She also noted a strong interest among young iTaukei students in fields such as education and trade, reflecting a growing focus on practical and community-focused careers.

The scholarship initiative aims to increase access to higher education while supporting the academic and professional development of students from the province.
