Students of Tailevu North College were challenged to have the moral courage to speak out against bullies.
Commander Republic of Fiji Military Force Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto while officiating at the school’s passing out parade last week said the reason there is bullying in schools is that people lack the moral courage to speak out.
“Moral courage will make you do the right thing,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said
He also reminded the cadets to give it their best shot while they were still in school.
He said opportunities come only once and it was important that students and stakeholders alike join hands in mapping out the best for the student’s future.
“Most of the time we give excuses. We say we cannot achieve big things because we have excuses. Excuses will not take the problems away. Excuses are like a blanket that you cover your problems with. If you look within, you will see that you have everything to be able to deal with the circumstances that you face in life,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.

After reviewing the 495 students on parade, Rear Admiral Naupoto said that those gathered to witness the proud occasion could only do so because of the protocols put in place by Government efforts that continue to contain the Covid-19 virus at our borders.
“All over the world, death and infection rate is rising. The big lesson here for us is to follow the rules and regulation that has been put in place by Government in order for us to enjoy activities such as this.”
Meanwhile school Head Boy and Parade Commander, Cadet Major Jone Tuinavitilevu from Nakalou in Macuata scooped the Best All-Around Cadet for not only being the best academically but also demonstrating a high level of discipline.
