TAILEVU Naitasiri futsal kick off the 2026 Extra Zonal Futsal League Southern Zone Championships with a 3-2 win over a courageous and charismatic Nasinu futsal side.
Spectators were treated to a high intensity and closely contested match at the Fiji Football Futsal Court in Vatuwaqa on Wednesday night.
Vinayak Rao’s double and Samisoni Rakuro goal were enough to deny the persistent Nasinu team who fought till the end but the composure and experience of Tailevu Naitasiri held firm in their opening encounter.
After a promising 2025 campaign where the team reached its first ever grand final of the Extra Futsal Inter-District Championship, the side looks primed for another great season this year.
The side has retained most of its star players from last season such as Kritesh Prasad, Shivneel Chand, Ravikaash Rajan and Shail Krishna provides the team with the much-needed experience to steer the team in the new season.
The team has also bolstered its ranks as it hunts for it’s first title this season signing Lautoka’s prolific futsal campaigner Wilson Dokedoke for this year’s campaign.
Making his much-anticipated district level debut is Adrian Kumar, the teams will also see the return of Rahul Prasad after a lapse of seven years.
