Tailevu Rugby Union is brimming with confidence ahead of their clash against Vinod Patel Ba this Saturday at Burebasaga Ground in the third round of the Skipper Cup.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tailevu Rugby Union President Joe Rodan said the team is focused on continuing their winning form.

“This week, we expect our players to come out strong and secure another victory. We keep reminding them that winning brings support and attracts sponsors, so we must win all our games,” Rodan said.

Reflecting on last week’s narrow 27-22 win over Naitasiri, Rodan added, “That victory showed that Tailevu is back and fighting hard. We also expect the same strong crowd that turned up last week to come out again and support the boys.”

The team, coached by a panel of six led by Reverend Joji Rinakama, has been working hard on and off the field. They moved into camp yesterday at Kaba Village, where local villagers will host the players until match day.

Last week, the team was hosted at Ovea Village, and Rodan confirmed that nine other villages are lined up to host the squad for the remaining rounds of the Skipper Cup.

Other matches this Saturday will see Vatukoula will host Nadi in Vatukoula, Malolo takes on Suva at Yawini Park in Mana Island, Macuata faces Lautoka in Macuata and Naitasiri will host Nadroga.
