Apart from her interest to play table tennis, Sally Yee, 15, this year was also motivated to pursue her career on this sport because her parent also loved to play it.
Yee started playing table tennis when she was five.
“When I am not playing table tennis, I won’t feel happy because my parents also play this sport,” Yee said.
She recently qualified for the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
She said her preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics included daily training and in June she would leave for Australia for more training before leaving for Rio.
Yee is the eldest in a family of three girls. She has represented Fiji in the Oceania Championships, World Junior Grant and Cadet Qualification.
“I have to improve my time management to balance my school work, especially this year where I am in Year 10 and will be attending the Fiji National Examination,” she said.
Yee acknowledged her parents, coach and the Fiji Association of Sport and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) to make her dreams come true.
Her mother Harvi Yee said the love of her daughter to table tennis was quite an amazing one.
“Everyone in the family play table tennis. I am proud of Sally and will continue to support her to make sure she achieve her dreams,” Harvi said.
