A TEAM made up of Fijians living in Sydney, Australia will participate in the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka next month.

The eHub International Sydney Fijians 7s team will head into the country to participate at one of the largest local rugby sevens tournaments in Fiji with the aim of providing pathways and exposure for players and teams connected to Fiji.

With the team’s goal of connecting teams and players to the country, the team will be led by former Wallabies winger and centre Henry Speight.

Speight is not the only experienced player in the side, others such as Ro Baleibau Buaserau and Abele Atunaisa are part of the travelling contingent to Fiji.

The latter duo have played top level rugby in Australia and with Speight, provide guidance and direction for a team made up mainly of young players aged 19-25 who will play high-level sevens rugby for the first time.

The team is sponsored by education and migration pathways organisation eHub International and associate sponsors Bula Brothers Landscaping, Brisk Reinforcement Pty Ltd and Tui Sportswear.

In welcoming them into the competition, Coral Coast 7s founding chairman Jay Whyte said having a team of Fijian heritage from Australia added a vibrant spirit.

“Their participation is a testament to the inclusive nature of our tournament as we celebrate the richness of rugby culture,” Whyte said.

The McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s will be held from January 15-17.
