THE Fiji Swimming senior squad started its two-day workshop with Australian co-ordinator Haydn Belshaw at the Damodar Aquatic Centre in Laucala Bay yesterday.
The squad went through the swim session (drills and skills) in the morning followed by a session with a psychologist and ended the day with the dryland and pool sessions with Belshaw.
Today, the squad will also discuss about the Pacific Games requirements with the manager and coach of the national swimming team.
“It’s great to see the older athletes working with the young athletes within the group,” Belshaw said.
“It’s fantastic to see that their leadership come out and I think they grow a lot from that experience.”
Belshaw said the workshop he had been running this week with the emerging squad and the coaches including the senior team was educating the participants on the off the pool activities.
