SVA kicks off 2025 season

The Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) has officially launched its 2025 season, kicking off with round robin games and knockout rounds in beach volleyball, leading up to the prestigious Inter Club Fiji volleyball tournament.

Held at LICI Courts in Laucala Bay, Suva, the week nine Suva club games saw over 30 teams, including 20 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams compete.

These games are crucial for determining the top teams for the Inter Club Championships.

This year’s competition carries additional importance, serving as a qualifier for the Inter Club Fiji Volleyball Tournament.

The top four teams from both the men’s and women’s divisions will represent Suva, with the first knockout rounds already underway.

Jone Baleilomaloma, the game commissioner for Suva volleyball, expressed excitement over the season’s start,

“These games will help us identify the top four teams in each category and prepare our clubs for the much anticipated Inter Club Fiji tournament.”

The first knockout rounds, which began in September 2024, have already highlighted the top contenders.

In the men’s division, Avengers 1, Red Line Bounty Rum, Avengers 2, and Naiqasiqasi Brothers are leading the pack.

For the women’s division, Phoenix, USP, Hanua 1 and Moskoi teams are the frontrunners.

With a focus on providing quality game time, the SVA is ensuring clubs are well-prepared for the upcoming championships.

“It’s vital to give teams ample game time for the bigger challenges ahead,” Baleilomaloma added.

As the games unfold, the excitement continues to build towards the inter-club championships, with the SVA ensuring that the competition remains intense and competitive.
