The Suva Volleyball Association makes a return to the Vulaca Championship after eight years.
Association vice president competition and high performance Semaima Lagilagi said they had a criteria to select players to participate in the Vulaca Championship 2023.
Suva will field two men’s and two women’s teams this year.
“The association has not been part of the championship for the past eight years, and we are looking forward to participating in this year’s meet,” Lagilagi said.
“The association plans to participate in all sanctioned tournaments organised by the Fiji Volleyball Federation this year, to ensure that our key players do not miss out on national selection for the Pacific Games.
“We have identified talented players from the past two seasons, and hopefully they meet the criteria for selection prepared by the federation.”
Lagilagi says the association plans to work with club administrators to revive clubs that have deregistered due to the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The association was revamped in 2019 by former administrators and coaches.
