Suva rugby club games resumes

Round three of the FMF Suva Rugby Union Club Games Competition is on today.

Originally scheduled for April 6 at the Bidesi and Buckhurst grounds, the third round was postponed due to adverse weather caused by Cyclone Vaianu.

With favourable conditions now in Suva, the eagerly anticipated third round will commence today at Buckhurst Grounds One and Two, located at Laucala Bay.

Six matches are set to take place at Buckhurst Park One.

The opening fixture kicks off at 8.30am with Nasevou Brothers facing Central Brothers, followed by the Escott Shield defending champions Police Blues taking on the Suva Stallions at 10am.

The final match at Buckhurst Park One will see Lomaiviti Black battle Savura for the coveted Esala Teleni Shield challenge at 4 pm.

Meanwhile, at Buckhurst Park Two, the FNU Brothers will take on TISA Insurance Namuka-i-Lau at 8.30am in the Koroturaga Cup, marking the first of six fixtures there.

At 10am, Vanuabalavu will face Naqarani in the Escott Shield competition, followed by Draunivau versus Vuna Brothers in the Koroturaga Cup division at 11.30am.

The fourth game at 1pm will see Mau take on Lami Cavaliers in the Escott Shield division, followed by RKSOB 2 battling Navakavu Blues at 2.30pm in the Koroturaga division.

The day’s final fixture at 4pm will feature QVSOB meeting a determined Nasinu side in the Escott Shield division.
