IT was an intense battle filled with passion and excitement as Suva emerged victorious over Lautoka with a 38-25 win in the second round of the Skipper Cup competition at Bidesi Park in Suva yesterday.

Suva showed their dominance in the first half, scoring well-executed tries and controlling possession.

However, Lautoka fought back fiercely in the second half, putting pressure on Suva’s defence and closing the gap. Ultimately, Suva managed to secure the win.

Team captain Mosese Naiova commended his team for their performance, acknowledging areas for improvement like their lineouts.

Despite having several debutants, Naiova expressed pride in their efforts and is looking ahead to the next game.

Meanwhile, Suva Women’s team successfully defended the Pio Bosco Trophy with a convincing 43-26 victory over Lautoka, while the U20 team also secured a win against Lautoka with a score of 32-8.
