A 37-year-old self employed man of Suva charged with Unlawful Importation of 4.7 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine has been refused bail.
Eroni Kitanamati made his first appearance before Magistrates Charles Ratakele facing a count of unlawful importation of illicit drugs.
The alleged incident occurred between September 11 and 12 this year.
This is in relation to the case where two Police officers were earlier charged.
Mr Kitanamati is represented by Suva Lawyer Jagath Karunaratne.
The charge was sanctioned by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) as further investigation into the case continues.
The case is adjourned to October 1.
