Capital Force Suva emerged as champions of the inaugural Finance Hub Super League netball title after defeating the highly competitive Nasinu Gold side 73-58 at the FMF Gymnasium yesterday.
In the first quarter, Suva took the lead racking up 20 points to Nasinu Gold’s 12.
They continued their strong performance in the second quarter, extending their lead to 37-29.
Carrying their momentum into the third quarter, Suva added another 14 points, bringing the score to 51-42.
In the final quarter, Suva displayed swift attacking skills and robust defence, and ultimately secured a 73-58 victory to close the grand finale.
Suva Netball Association president Gabriel Qoro said the girls just did their own training.
“The players are playing in their own clubs, we just get together for the finals for the Suva team, which was a success,” he said.
“We expected a tough challenge from Nasinu and majority of the Nasinu team are ex national reps, the girls did what were told to do and they got the win.
“Our girls out-played Nasinu because of our fitness level and that was expected.
“Fitness speaks a lot when you play top level netball, the girls are very happy and now we have to focus on our Suva netball finals next week.”
Lautoka Stars claimed the third-place position.
The Ra Roosters took the fourth spot, followed by the Nadroga Stallions in fifth place.
The Naitasiri Highlanders ended the league in sixth place.
