Suva made a gallant exit from the 55th IDC on Saturday with a good 3-0 win against neighbours Rewa at Govind Park on Saturday.

But the win was not enough to take Suva further into the competition, it was the last game for the Maretino Nemani-captained side, drawing the first against Tavua and losing to Nasinu and Ba for the four points to be placed fourth in Pool one.

The game was marred by carelessness in the first half although there were three clear opportunities where goals could have been scored.

Suva right back Sailosi Tili was given a good break by Shalendra Lal, he ran unchallenged for 15 metres but over-dribbled the ball allowing goalkeeper Tareti Niqara to collect the ball with out him taking a shot.

Rewa had their chance when Jagat Reddy was given all, the room to put the ball into the back of the net.

Suva goalkeeper tapped the ball into his direction after a cross kick taken by Albert Andrews, but with an open goal, he lobbed over the crossbar.

Suva had another chance to score when Temesi Tuwai was given a good break, but he allowed the Rewa defence to regroup when he took a shot which was deflected.

Suva meant business at the retreat when Sairusi Niulevu scored in the second minute. The goal was set up by Sailosi Tili who gave ample space to Niulevu to strike the ball in.

The Rewa defence crumbled after the goal, and they were still recuperating from the shock when the second goal was scored.

Replacement Steve MacMahom received the ball from Meli Debalevu who worked his way to the line and the through ball inside the penalty box saw the tall American without hesitation struck it past Niqara.

The Rewa defence was disorganised allowing Niulevu and Tili to take attempts at goal, the third goals showed the Laxity and no support in the Rewa defence.
