SUVA Football Club president Nitin Singh expressed his pride in the team’s performance during their match against champion side Labasa in round 16 of the Extra Premier League competition held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Sunday.

Despite Labasa taking the lead in the first half through Christopher Wasasala, Suva managed to equalize with a penalty converted by Remueru Takiate after Ravinesh Karan Singh was fouled in the box.

Singh commended the team for giving their all on the field, especially considering that they were missing five players who will be representing the Fiji national futsal team.

He was pleased to see the remaining players step up and deliver a solid performance against a strong opponent like Labasa.

“The team did well on the field, even though we didn’t get the win, but the boys gave their 100 per cent,” said Singh.

“We got five one our players that missed out in this match against Labasa because they are in the Fiji national futsal team, so I’m glad to see the other boys stepped up and did their best.

“It was a tough game, our visitors really showed their performance in the first half, but I’m glad that we equalised in the second half.”

Acknowledging the challenge posed by Labasa as a champion side, Singh emphasized the importance of not disappointing their fans and supporters at home.

He thanked the fans for their continued support and reassured them that the team would continue to give their best in the remaining fixtures and prepare for the IDC.
