Fiji launched the Blue Economy Framework 2025–2035, a national roadmap guiding the sustainable use and protection of the country’s ocean resources over the next decade.
Unveiled by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with Blue Prosperity Fiji, the framework promotes balanced ocean-based development that supports economic growth while safeguarding marine ecosystems.
It outlines key priorities including sustainable fisheries, marine conservation, climate-resilient tourism and renewable ocean energy.
Developed through extensive stakeholder consultations, the framework aligns with Fiji’s national development goals and global climate commitments, with targets to sustainably manage all ocean space and fully protect at least 30 per cent by 2030.
