FIJI Outrigger is gearing up for one of its biggest Wai Tui Internationals yet, with close to 250 athletes now registered for next month’s regatta, according to Fiji Outrigger President, Loretta St Julian Ooms.
The field includes close to 100 international paddlers, joining local clubs in what is shaping up to be a truly regional showcase of Pacific paddling.
Strong contingents are confirmed from Nauru, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Samoa, reflecting the event’s growing pull across the region and beyond.
“With demand still building, registrations have been extended to this Friday, giving clubs and individual paddlers a final window to secure their place on the start line,” Ms Ooms said. “The surge in interest signals not only the return f a major fixture on Fiji’s sporting calendar, but also the appetite across the Pacific together, compete, and celebrate the sport together.”
