SURFERS are ready, fans are eager, and the world is watching as the 2025 Lexus WSL Finals Fiji, presented by Corona Cero, prepares to crown the season’s World Surf League champions at Cloudbreak, Fiji’s renowned reef break.
The main competition is scheduled to start on Monday at 7.30am.
Yesterday, the final 5 surfers held practice sessions alongside the men’s and women’s Fiji Specialty Heats, giving fans a preview of the top athletes fine-tuning their strategies for the high-stakes competition.
Australia’s Molly Picklum, the number one seed in the women’s division, said finishing first this year is a huge step, noting that she feels ready for the challenge.
“Finishing number one this year is a huge step. I feel like I’m where I need to be.”
Picklum has competed in multiple previous WSL Finals but has yet to win a heat. As the top seed, she can claim the World Title by winning the first heat of the Title Match, needing just two strong waves to become champion.
Jack Robinson, who secured his place with a victory at the Teahupo’o Tahiti Pro, said he is determined to perform at his best.
“I had a mission, and I went for it. I’m where I wanted to be.”
The 2025 WSL Finals format raises the stakes even higher, with every wave carrying enormous importance as surfers compete for glory at Cloudbreak. This change adds an exciting dynamic to the competition, emphasizing the importance of each wave ridden.
As the waiting period continues, all eyes are on the skies and seas, hoping for the arrival of the perfect swell that will set the stage for an unforgettable finale.
