WHILE national women’s rep Rusila Nagasau continues her training with her in Chile ahead of the Rio Olympics, members of her village at Navakativa in Wailevu in Vanua Levu, continue to pray for her and for her teammates.
The nippy halfback’s proud father, Lino Roqica described his daughter as an achiever saying he was looking forward to receiving his daughter and her gold medal when the Rio Olympic Games is over.
Sixty-one-year old Roqica said Nagasau came from a sporting family. Her grandfather Iosefo Roqica was a soccer player in his days.
Nagasau is an avid sports player who takes part in netball, volleyball, soccer and rugby. Nagasau is related to former Fiji 7s rep Benito Masilevu and national women’s captain, Anamaria Roqica.
Meanwhile, Nagasau’s mother Vinaisi Adiqilisoi, 57, was in Suva recently to farewell her daughter.
Adiqilisoi said that Nagasau’s family and the whole village of Navakativa in Wailevu, Cakaudrove would be cheering madly for cousins Anamaria and Nagasau come Sunday when the national women’s side takes on USA.
