The Army volleyball team will bank on the enthusiasm and pride of its soldiers to deliver, when they take on the defending service women’s volleyball champions Police tomorrow at the National Netball Centre.
Republic of Fiji Military Forces netball and volleyball manager Nanise Ralagi said although they did not have the luxury to field national players, they still hosted a wealth of talent to showcase.
“We do not have the expertise, we have soldiers,” Ralagi said.
“We may not have the skills or the set pieces but we will go out there and play our hearts out.”
Ralagi said the long tradition of the Sukuna Bowl scheduled at the end of the year was a timely queue to finish out a long year.
“It’s a chance for players and their families to come out and enjoy with counterparts in the Fiji Police.”
With a young squad, the Army volleyball team will be bolstered by the experience of former national Sereseini Lutu and Laite Nima.
The competition starts at 9am tomorrow at the National Netball Centre.
